In response to the allegations, Zareen Khan stated, “I’m sure there is no truth to this. I’m surprised, too, and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR.”

In September 2023, the Kolkata court took a significant step by issuing an arrest warrant against the actress. This case was initiated back in 2018, and a charge sheet was subsequently submitted to the Sealdah court in Kolkata by an investigating officer. The issuance of the arrest warrant was triggered by Zareen Khan's non-appearance before the court.

However, the case took an unexpected twist. The arrest warrant issued against Zareen Khan was a result of what was later identified as “fraudulent and misleading statements” made by the Investigating Officer, MSN reported.

Recognizing the discrepancies, the Kolkata High Court passed an interim order that weighed heavily in Zareen Khan's favor, canceling her arrest warrant. Furthermore, the Magistrate also decided to cancel and recall the arrest warrant against her.
