Pizza Hut Manager Killed By Coworker Over $7K

In a shocking turn of events, a dispute over an inheritance check led to a tragic murder within the confines of a local Pizza Hut.

A Pizza Hut employee, Kavonn Ingram, has been accused of the grim murder of his manager, Alex Stengel, allegedly motivated by envy over an inheritance check Stengel had cashed.

This heinous crime, rooted in jealousy and financial dispute, culminated in Stengel's body being discovered in a dumpster early in February, leaving the South Milwaukee community reeling from the brutality of the act.

A Fatal Show of Wealth Leads to Tragedy in South Milwaukee

Several days before the murder, Alex Stengel, a 55-year-old manager, came into a $7,000 inheritance. He made the ill-fated decision to cash this check and flaunted the resulting wad of bills to his co-workers, including Kavonn Ingram. Little did he know that this act of pride would set off a catastrophic chain of events leading to his untimely death.

Ingram, a 31-year-old employee of Pizza Hut in South Milwaukee, reportedly harbored resentment towards Stengel over the inheritance. This animosity culminated on February 5th, when Stengel's life was brutally taken.

The South Milwaukee Police Department received a chilling report of a dead body found in the restaurant's garbage area. A subsequent investigation led officers on a bloody trail that ended in the restaurant's kitchen, painting a grisly scene of the crime.

A Dispute That Ended in Tragedy

According to the police report, Ingram went to great lengths to cover up his heinous act. After committing the murder, he was captured on surveillance footage dragging a garbage can containing Stengel's body to the dumpsters around 10:30 a.m. on February 5th.

The calculated attempt to conceal his crime didn't end there. Ingram clocked out for Stengel in a deceptive attempt to suggest that his victim had left work as scheduled.

Furthermore, Ingram tried to mislead the investigation by sending text messages from Stengel's phone to a regional manager, simulating ongoing communication.

The details of Stengel's murder are particularly gruesome. He was shot, and his throat was slashed, accompanied by additional stab wounds around his neck. This level of violence suggests a deeply personal element to the crime, far exceeding any normal workplace dispute.

Adding to the horror, Stengel's personal belongings, including his wallet, keys, and cellphone, were stolen, pointing to robbery as a possible secondary motive.

Ingram now faces charges of first-degree homicide, hiding a corpse as a party to a crime, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm by a felon. These charges not only underscore the brutality of the crime but also highlight significant premeditation and attempts to evade justice following the act.

The Shocking Discovery Outside Pizza Hut

The community of South Milwaukee has been left to grapple with the reality of a brutal murder occurring in a place as familiar as a local Pizza Hut. The establishment, usually a setting for casual dining and family gatherings, became a crime scene overnight.

This stark juxtaposition has not only shocked residents but has also raised concerns about workplace safety and the potential for violence in seemingly safe environments.

Lessons to Learn from This Tragedy

1. Always be mindful of how much personal information you share at work. While sharing financial gains like an inheritance can be a moment of pride, it can also inadvertently create jealousy or animosity.

2. Understand the importance of workplace safety and conflict resolution. Employers should foster an environment where grievances can be addressed without fear of retribution.

3. Recognize the signs of escalating conflicts. While it's impossible to predict violent outbursts, being aware of changes in co-worker dynamics can be crucial. It's important to add, however, that despite our best efforts to stay safe, crime can victimize anyone, and it's never the fault of the victim.

Why This Story Matters

This story is a grim reminder of how quickly situations can escalate and turn deadly, stemming from seemingly minor disputes. It underscores the need for better understanding and addressing workplace conflicts, mental health issues, and the importance of community vigilance.

Moreover, it highlights the devastating impact violent crime has not only on the victims and their families but also on the surrounding community that must come to terms with the loss of safety and security in their daily environments.

In conclusion, the murder of Alex Stengel by Kavonn Ingram over a disputed inheritance check exposes a harrowing tale of jealousy, violence, and attempted cover-up. This incident serves as a stark warning about the dangers of envy and the extreme lengths to which it can drive individuals.

The South Milwaukee community must now heal from this tragedy, reflecting on the importance of compassion, understanding, and resilience in the face of inexplicable violence.
