Matthew Perry And Assistant's Excessive Spending On Ketamine Before Tragic Death

In the weeks leading up to Matthew Perry's tragic death, new details have emerged about the actor's extensive ketamine use.

According to court documents reviewed by US Weekly, Perry and his live-in assistant, Kenny Iwamasa, spent at least $55,000 on 55 ketamine vials and related injections in just 29 days prior to the actor's passing of October 28, 2023, at the age of 54.

Daily Mail reported that the information came to light following the arrest of five individuals, including Iwamasa, in connection with Perry's death.

The Department of Justice documents reveal a disturbing pattern of ketamine acquisition and use involving illegal transactions and dangerous injection practices.

Ketamine Purchases And Injections Detailed

Court records show that Iwamasa sent multiple text messages to suppliers seeking more of the surgical anesthetic, including at least one illegal transaction. In one instance, Perry, Iwamasa, and Dr. Salvador Plasencia met in a parking lot where the actor received a ketamine injection.

The documents also indicate that Plasencia and Iwamasa exchanged thousands of dollars in cash for bottles of ketamine. Plasencia reportedly injected Perry with ketamine at the actor's home on several occasions, sometimes within hours of Perry already having received an injection.

One particularly alarming incident described in the legal documents involved Perry receiving a double dose of ketamine, which caused his systolic blood pressure to rise to dangerous levels. The actor was reportedly "unable to speak or move" as a result of these injections.

Escalating Ketamine Use In Final Days

According to the court documents, Iwamasa illegally purchased 25 bottles of ketamine for $6,000 just nine days after another illegal purchase of 25 ketamine vials.

In the days that followed, Perry was injected six times in one day by Iwamasa, followed by 18 additional injections over the next three days.

On the day of his death, Perry allegedly told Iwamasa to "shoot me up with a big one." The assistant reportedly injected Perry with ketamine three times that day.

Legal Consequences And Ongoing Investigation

The revelations about Perry's ketamine use have led to legal action against several individuals involved. Iwamasa has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine, while Erik Fleming, another associate, has pleaded guilty to distributing ketamine, resulting in death. Both are cooperating with prosecutors.

Dr. Mark Chavez, a friend of Dr. Plasencia, has agreed to plead guilty to conspiracy to distribute the drug. Meanwhile, Dr. Plasencia and Jasveen Sangha, known as the "Ketamine Queen," have pleaded not guilty to multiple felony counts.

The investigation into Perry's death has shed light on the network of individuals involved in supplying and administering ketamine to the actor. It has also raised questions about the off-label use of ketamine for depression treatment and the potential dangers of unsupervised drug use.

Lessons to Learn from This Tragedy

The descent of Matthew Perry from a celebrated entertainer to a victim underscores the perilous nature of drug dependency. Here are a few cautionary lessons:

  1. Even celebrities are not immune to the consequences of drug abuse; they always seek help for addictions early.
  2. Illegal drug transactions can swiftly spiral out of control and are heavily punished by law.
  3. The environment one chooses to surround oneself with greatly impacts well-being; a support system rooted in wellness rather than enablers can prevent tragedies.

It's imperative to remember that crime can strike anyone, and blaming the victim diverts focus from preventing future incidents.

Why This Story Matters

The loss of a beloved public figure like Perry serves as a poignant reminder of the consequences of unchecked substance abuse. This story raises awareness about the risks associated with illicit drug markets and highlights the importance of vigilant legal controls and social support systems in preventing similar tragedies.

In conclusion, the new information about Matthew Perry's final days reveals a troubling pattern of ketamine use facilitated by his assistant and various medical professionals.

The actor's struggle with addiction, which had been a long-standing issue, tragically culminated in his untimely death. The legal proceedings against those involved continue as authorities seek to address the circumstances surrounding Perry's passing and the broader issues of drug distribution and misuse.
