Actor Charged In Gruesome Attack On Girlfriend Days After Bail

Nicholas Pasqual startled the quiet of the early morning with violence, transforming a personal dispute into a criminal tragedy.

Nicholas Pasqual, recently bailed on domestic violence charges, is now facing accusations of attempting to murder his girlfriend, Allie Shehorn, by stabbing her in her own home.

People reported that Nicholas Pasqual was taken into custody over a felony domestic violence allegation against his girlfriend, Allie Shehorn, on May 18.

Law enforcement booked him into a Los Angeles jail that morning at 10:06 a.m. Despite the serious nature of the charges, Pasqual was released approximately five hours later at 3:13 p.m., after posting a $50,000 bond.

Escalation to Attempted Murder

Following his release, Pasqual did not stay away from Shehorn, as would later become devastatingly clear.

On May 20, Shehorn took a legal step to protect herself by filing a restraining order against Pasqual.

However, this measure did not deter him. Just three days after the restraining order, during the early hours of May 23, Pasqual allegedly invaded Shehorn's home around 4:30 a.m. and attacked her with a knife, stabbing her multiple times.

Serious Consequences and Medical Emergency

This assault resulted in severe injuries for Shehorn. She underwent 14 hours of intensive and life-saving surgeries, focusing primarily on repairing stab wounds across various body parts.

The physical repercussions were extensive, including significant tendon damage that now necessitates her to relearn basic physical activities.

According to Shehorn's friend and fellow makeup artist, Jed Dornoff, who spoke to PEOPLE, he pursued her immediately after posting bail.

Legal Repercussions and Public Statement

After the attack, Pasqual fled the scene and attempted to escape justice by heading towards Mexico. However, his freedom was short-lived.

On May 29, authorities detained him at a border checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. He now awaits extradition, facing serious charges, including attempted murder and residential burglary.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney, George Gascón, underscored the grave nature of this incident, calling it a "stark reminder" of the ongoing threat posed by domestic violence within our communities.

This case has drawn attention not only for its brutality but also for the legal responses to domestic violence and the effectiveness of protective orders.

Why This Story Matters

This story serves as a crucial reminder of the persistent and pervasive danger of domestic violence. It raises important questions about the justice system's handling of domestic violence cases, especially concerning bail decisions and the enforcement of restraining orders.

Lessons to Learn From This Tragedy

1. Importance of Quick and Effective Legal Response: Restraining orders must be enforced with utmost seriousness to protect potential victims.

2. Community Support Is Crucial: Neighbors and community members should remain vigilant and supportive of those at risk of domestic violence.

3. Awareness and Education: More needs to be done to educate people about the signs of domestic violence and the steps they can take to seek help.

Despite all precautions, it's crucial to remember that crime can occur to anyone, and it's never the victim's fault.

In conclusion, the harrowing experience of Allie Shehorn serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking in failing relationships, especially when legal measures fail to protect those at risk. The community, law enforcement, and judicial systems must reflect on this case and strive towards more effective protections for individuals facing similar threats.
