Former officer faces community service for inappropriate remarks to colleagues

A former police officer based in Scotland drew scrutiny after making unwanted sexual remarks to multiple women while serving on the force.

According to the Daily Mail, Peter Fleming, 41, has been sentenced after admitting to making inappropriate comments toward three female colleagues between February 2021 and May 2023 while working as an officer in Rothesay, Isle of Bute.

Fleming's behavior came to light after one woman reported feeling physically ill from his comments during a police vehicle incident.

An investigation later revealed two other female officers had experienced similar misconduct from Fleming during their time working with him.

Fleming received a community payback order requiring two years of social work supervision and 160 hours of unpaid work. He must also register as a sex offender for two years. The former officer had already resigned from the police force before sentencing.
