NCIS: LA Actor Gabriel Olds Charged With Multiple Assaults

Los Angeles police have launched an extensive investigation into actor Gabriel Olds after multiple sexual assault allegations.

According to the New York Post, the investigation was triggered by an assault complaint from a 41-year-old woman alleging that Gabriel Olds had raped her at her Los Angeles residence on January 19, 2023.

Olds, known for his role in ‘NCIS: Los Angeles,’ now faces seven felony sexual assault charges following accusations from at least three women he met via dating apps over the last decade.

Police detailed that Olds, leveraging his Hollywood status and Yale University alumni background, used dating apps to establish connections with the victims.

They are now concerned that there might be more victims who have yet to come forward.

Expanding the Investigation

The initial report on January 19 led to a deeper look into Olds' interactions dating back as far as 2013.

He has been a prominent figure in several TV shows like "The Rookie: Feds" and "Law & Order: SVU," adding to his high-profile persona, which he allegedly used to manipulate his victims.

Further investigations revealed two additional women who came forward, accusing Olds of sexual assault, with two others describing less violent yet inappropriate encounters.

The Los Angeles Superior Court issued arrest warrants for Olds on July 19. He was apprehended on a subsequent Monday—though the exact date is unspecified.

A statement from the LAPD outlined how Olds portrayed himself initially, “His victims reported that he used his status as an Ivy League alumnus with success in the film industry to meet women and arrange dates.”

This built a false sense of security among the victims before he allegedly turned violent.

The Tactics of Manipulation Illuminated

Details of the allegations paint a grim picture of deception and aggression. Detective Brent Hopkins, involved in the case, revealed, “Mr. Olds started as charming, but then used brutal violence to carry out these rapes.”

The narrative followed by each victim bore striking similarities, indicating a premeditated approach to the assaults.

LAPD's statements confirm Olds' methodical strategy, describing how he lured women “into a false sense of security during their initial encounters, then turned violent without seeking their consent.” As investigations continue, authorities are urging other potential victims to step forward.

“Some of these survivors suffered in silence for years before finding the strength to speak up,” Hopkins further stated, underscoring the prolonged trauma faced by the victims.

Why This Story Matters

This case shines a harsh light on the potential dark side of dating in the digital age, where individuals can manipulate their public and digital personas to exploit others. For a community focused on safety and justice, understanding the dynamics of such crimes fosters awareness and preventive strategies.

In conclusion, the allegations against Gabriel Olds not only reveal the complexities of his interactions with these women but also remind the public of the crucial importance of awareness, caution, and transparency in online and dating app interactions.

As the community watches this case unfold, it serves as a critical example of the need for vigilance and protective measures in any interaction with strangers, no matter their status or background.
